A delicious pot roast that is easy to make that the whole family will enjoy!
Ingredients
- 4 pounds beef roast (chuck or rump)
- 2 T flour
- 1 t kosher salt
- ½ t black pepper
- 2 t garlic powder
- 1 t olive oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced in rings
- 4 potatoes, cut into 1-inch chunks
- 6 carrots, peeled and cut into 2-inch lengths)
- 1 c sliced celery
- 3 T Worcestershire sauce
- ½ c beef broth (red wine can be used instead)
Instructions
- Shake roast in plastic zippered bag with flour, salt, pepper and garlic powder
- Remove roast from bag and brown on all sides in a large skillet with olive oil
- Place sliced onions in bottom of cooker
- Set browned roast on top of onions
- Toss in potatoes, celery and carrots
- Pour worcestershire and beef roth (or wine) on top
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours (or if you are short on time 5-6 hours on high)
- If meat isn't as moist as you like nearing serving time take it out and cut it into a few pieces and return it to the pot to soak up more juice.
