A delicious pot roast that is easy to make that the whole family will enjoy!
Ingredients
  • 4 pounds beef roast (chuck or rump)
  • 2 T flour
  • 1 t kosher salt
  • ½ t black pepper
  • 2 t garlic powder
  • 1 t olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced in rings
  • 4 potatoes, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 6 carrots, peeled and cut into 2-inch lengths)
  • 1 c sliced celery
  • 3 T Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ c beef broth (red wine can be used instead)
Instructions
  1. Shake roast in plastic zippered bag with flour, salt, pepper and garlic powder
  2. Remove roast from bag and brown on all sides in a large skillet with olive oil
  3. Place sliced onions in bottom of cooker
  4. Set browned roast on top of onions
  5. Toss in potatoes, celery and carrots
  6. Pour worcestershire and beef roth (or wine) on top
  7. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours (or if you are short on time 5-6 hours on high)
  8. If meat isn't as moist as you like nearing serving time take it out and cut it into a few pieces and return it to the pot to soak up more juice.
